The Connecticut Light and Power Company, doing business as Eversource, filed a distribution rate case with the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority on July 14, 2026. It seeks about $451 million a year in base distribution revenue, or about $727 million including storm costs from January 2018 to March 2025; as filed, a typical residential customer using 700 kWh would pay about 18% (roughly $32 a month) more. Eversource says the increase would be about 11% (roughly $20) if those storm costs are securitized instead of recovered through base rates. It proposes a four-year performance-based rate plan starting July 1, 2027 with a 10.25% return on equity, and PURA's decision is expected by June 29, 2027.
