Puget Sound Energy filed a three-year electric and natural gas rate plan with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission on February 27, 2026 (dockets UE-260005 and UG-260006). For electricity it asks for $625.3 million (15.15%) in 2027, $178.7 million (3.74%) in 2028 and $431.9 million (8.70%) in 2029, over three years; its filing puts the residential increase at 16.75% in the first year, about $29.57 a month for a typical customer using 851 kWh. PSE says it needs the money to invest more than $3.2 billion in its gas and electric system, handle growing demand and meet state clean energy laws, and it asks for a 10.8% return on equity. The case is contested, with evidentiary hearings set for November 3-5, 2026 and the commission's suspension period ending January 27, 2027.
