Consolidated Edison Company of New York filed with the New York Public Service Commission on January 31, 2025 for about $1.61 billion in new electric delivery revenue, an 11.4% rise in total revenues; state staff estimated a 600 kWh residential customer's total bill would rise 13.4%, or $26.60 a month. The company cited property taxes, new infrastructure for demand growth and storm resilience, and asked for a 10.1% return on equity. On January 22, 2026 the commission instead adopted a three-year joint proposal worth $234 million, $409.7 million and $421.1 million in successive rate years at a 9.4% return on equity. For the 600 kWh customer the total bill rises 3.4% in 2026, 3.2% in 2027 and 3.1% in 2028 (3.9% in 2026 for a 280 kWh customer), with the new rates applied retroactively from January 1, 2026.
